Melissa Wagner (Board Member)
Melissa Wagner joined the Board of Center Ice Ministries in 2017. She grew up in the Tampa, FL area.
Melissa has spent the past 30 years in business, managing areas such as Business Development, Sales and Marketing. She currently works for a non-profit research institute.
Her involvement with hockey, like many of us, was thrust upon her by her kids’ involvement when they started young. As a hockey mom, hockey took her and her boys across 9 states and 2 countries, taking them through travel hockey, Marine Corps hockey, and now college hockey. She has served for over 10 years in administrative roles in youth hockey, including High School Hockey Director, Regional High School Hockey Board Member, Referee Coordinator, Local USA Hockey Affiliate President, and Billet Mom for 5 years for the USHL Indiana Ice. In addition to being on the Center Ice Ministries Board, she served for 5 years on Integrating Women Leaders in Indianapolis, as well as 5 years with Defending the Blue Line (a hockey outreach program for children of military families). You can learn more about that work at www.DefendingTheBlueLine.org or https://unitedheroesleague.org.
With all of her hockey experience, combined with her business acumen, she brings an expertise to the ministry that is unique and valuable. Her advice and guidance on how to run the organization efficiently is greatly valued, and her knowledge of sales and development will propel Center Ice Ministries to continue to reach more hockey players at all levels.
Melissa’s favorite NHL hockey team is the Tampa Bay Lightning, and her favorite college team is the University of Wisconsin-Steven’s Point (where her son currently plays goalie).
