Phil has been with Athletes In Action for 28 years, starting his campus work at the University of Michigan, but coming to Michigan State in 2000. His work with AIA reaches athletes from all sports, but in our partnership with Phil, he takes time to focus on the hockey players, for which Center Ice Ministries is extremely grateful (The Foxes are MSU Graduates). 

Phil has been leading our Michigan State Spartan Chapel since 2018. He’s does a great job of connecting with the players and discussing relevant issues and challenges athletes face while working to maintain their faith. 

Phil has been married for 28 years and has 4 kids!! 

His favorite hockey team is the Detroit Redwings.
